The California State Athletic Directors Association (CSADA) has a rich history dating back over five decades. Established to elevate the professionalism, knowledge, and consistency of athletic directors in California’s schools, CSADA has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of high school athletics in the state.
Throughout its history, CSADA has fostered close working relationships among state and national groups, promoted the continuous study and development of best practices, and encouraged goodwill and fellowship in athletic administration. It has been a hub for networking, professional development, and recognizing outstanding achievements in athletic programs.
Over the years, CSADA has evolved to meet the changing needs of athletic directors and remains a vital resource for those dedicated to the growth and success of high school athletics in California.
The California State Athletic Directors Association (CSADA) has proudly upheld its position as one of the most prominent volunteer associations for over five decades.
Our mission has evolved to shape an educational organization dedicated to elevating the professionalism, knowledge, and consistency of Athletic Directors in schools across California.
From its inception, CSADA has forged a robust partnership with the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), laying the foundation for a professional support network essential for realizing our collective vision.
Recognizing excellence has always been at the core of CSADA’s ethos. We’ve diligently given back to hardworking athletic directors and celebrated exceptional ADs, with over 500 section award winners throughout our storied history.
Additionally, our Newline Magazine, accessible in the News section of this website, serves as a vital platform to disseminate critical information, share impactful stories, and engage in discussions with athletic personnel, both within California and across the nation.
Today, we print 6,200 copies of each of our three issues (November, February, and June), with three copies dispatched to every school in California— one for the Superintendent, one for the Principal, and one for the Athletic Director.
Furthermore, our commitment to excellence extends to our annual CSADA conference, renowned for attracting some of the nation’s finest speakers. This has solidified our conference as the premier gathering for ADs and Athletic Administrators from all corners of California.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the CSADA website. As the President of this esteemed organization, I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such dedicated and passionate athletic directors from across our state.
Our association is committed to promoting and supporting the growth of high school athletics in our state and beyond. We believe that through interscholastic athletic competition, we can instill important values such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience in our young people. We are also committed to providing our student-athletes with a safe and inclusive environment that fosters their physical and emotional well-being.
As professionals in the field of youth athletics, we recognize the importance of ongoing professional development. Our jobs require us to stay current on the latest trends and best practices in our field and continually develop our skills and knowledge. To that end, our association is committed to providing our members with a wide range of professional development opportunities, LTI training courses, annual conferences, and other networking events.
We also recognize that professional development can be a significant investment of time and resources, which is why we are committed to making these opportunities as accessible and affordable as possible for our members. We believe that by investing in our own professional development, we can better serve our student-athletes and help them reach their full potential.
I encourage you to be a part of the CSADA and take advantage of the many resources and opportunities available to you as a member of our association. Whether you want to develop a new skill, expand your network, or stay up-to-date on the latest trends in high school athletics, we are here to support you.
Thank you for your dedication and tireless effort, and I look forward to our continued work together.
